Project Knowing Muhammad (PBUH)
I was invited to host a series of workshops for a group of teenagers in Nelson, with the aim of exploring the life and teachings of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) through storytelling and artistic expression. The workshops provided participants with an in-depth understanding of the key aspects of his life and character, focusing on his exemplary qualities such as compassion, justice, humility, patience, and leadership.
Through a combination of storytelling, discussion, and hands-on art activities, the goal was to help participants internalize the moral lessons of the Prophet’s life and consider how they could embody these values in their own lives. The workshops encouraged participants to creatively represent these stories and teachings through various artistic mediums, including painting, calligraphy, sculpture, photography, and digital art.
At the conclusion of the workshop series, an exhibition was held to showcase the students' work, offering them an opportunity to present their artistic interpretations of the life and legacy of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). This exhibition not only highlighted their artistic talents but also provided a platform for them to reflect on the spiritual and moral lessons they had learned during the course.
The overarching aim of the initiative was to foster a deeper connection with Islamic values, promote creativity, and inspire personal growth through the exploration of art and storytelling.
